DYNAMIC ANALYSIS OF A FLAME ANCHORED BY A RECIRCULATION STRUCTURE UNDERGOING ACOUSTIC EXCITATION

Gabriel Beividas Antunes

Resumo

The study herein detailed consists of an experimental analysis of the equivalence ratio influence on the existence of combustion instabilities inside a combustion chamber. Both the pressure oscillations and the associated frequencies have been evaluated in order to reach conclusions regarding the presence of combustion instability. Three different methodologies, all of them with a very refined step, have been applied to the same experimental apparatus: increasing air mass flow, decreasing air mass flow and increasing fuel mass flow. The results indicated chamber-inherent combustion instability at some values of equivalence ratio and the connection among combustion instabilities and a variety of factors.
